abor MOTO
In the far Northeast of India lies a land that’s largely unexplored and cut of from the rest of the nation, a giant patch of verdant green on the map with terrain that’s still wild and little travelled – the state of Arunachal Pradesh, the land of ‘dawn lit mountains’. Rising up from the Assam plains, these densely forested hills tower into mighty snow capped peaks that form the eastern Himalaya at the Tibetan frontier.
The Abor Moto sees us venture into the tribal lands along the Siang River, the local name of the mighty Brahmaputra that descends down from Tibetan plateau and dissects the state. We’ll be riding along its rudimentary forested tracks and across suspended cane and bamboo bridges that test both nerve and riding skills, whilst resting and dining in traditional thatched Abor villages, Government guesthouses and the odd tea planter’s bungalow left over from Colonial days, a little luxury whilst in the boonies.
Bolivia Moto
Bolivia for an outstanding Moto’s in this most extraordinary country. Diverse, rugged, beautiful; this is a land of wonder, of smouldering volcanoes, the Amazon rainforest, snow capped mountains, high deserts, fumaroles, rivers and canyons.
We ride across the dazzling white expanse of the Salar de Uyuni, test your riding on the muddy tracks of the Amazon jungle and your nerve along the infamous ‘death road’. We’ll ride through virtually unchanged colonial towns, brave the traffic of La Paz, see the bizzare train graveyard on the edge of the salt flats and the Silver mines at Potosi. Bolivia is one of the most diverse countries to ride through and a photographer’s dream – the locals are colourful, the scenery epic, the food hearty, not to mention the riding which is quite fabulous.
Burma Moto
Burma, or Myanmar as it’s now called, is a rapidly changing country as it emerges from a half century of military rule and our tailored moto through this spiritual land is an opportunity to see the country before the modern world changes its ancient ways forever.
From a starting point of Mandalay, our circular route takes us first up north along the Irrawaddy river’s tributaries to the ancient city of Hanlin before we turn gradually west up into the clouded Chin hills and their ethnic tribes. Being post monsoon, we encounter a mixed grade of roads, from the bustling traffic congested tarmac of the cities and towns, to the rain worn tracks of the hill villages.
The Burma Moto is as much about the culture and food of this extraordinary country as it is about the riding and we’ll be stopping off at roadside markets and tea stops, crumbling temples, mountain villages and in National Parks to do a little ‘birding’ along route. After negotiating the Chin Hills, we make our way south towards Bagan, one of the world’s great historical sites, featuring some 2,000 Buddhist temples and pagodas spread out across the desert plans. Here we have a rest day in a lovely hotel on the banks of the Irrawaddy and a chance to bimble along the network of dirt tracks at leisure that interconnect this old city. Fully recharged, we head back towards Mandalay for tea and medals and for those so inclined, an optional extension in country can be arranged.
desert drift - moroc n moto
Desert Drift is a fantastic introduction to adventure riding with our foray down to Morocco, riding through the Atlas mountains into the northern Sahara desert, the sea of sand that swallows up Morocco’s entire southern border.
This six day, 1200km ride, starting and finishing in exotic Marrakech is the perfect way to experience a huge variety of ‘emptiness’ just a skimming stone away from Europe. Working our way through the high Atlas on our 250cc workhorses, we descend towards the sand and the Algerian border, riding former stages of the Dakar, through dried up river beds and wadis, across crusted salt pans and along rocky camel trails that criss- cross the land. Oh, and there’s sand and plenty of it in the shape of the Erg Chegaga, with its towering dunes and vast foreverness of sand and sky. We stay at a variety of Riads, with delicious fresh food (tangines), mint tea by the gallon and the ever friendly Bedouin adding colour to Africa's most northern lands. Moroc n Moto has the feel of a ‘frontier ride’, with just the right blend of the exotic and the familiar less that four hours from home.
It’s adventure riding at its very best, fully supported with an accompanying 4x4 and mechanic.

KAZAKH & the ‘stans’ MOTO

Taking us through the sands of the Tau-Kum desert, into the striking Charyn Canyon and through the alpine meadows of the Zalli Altau, we ride along the trails of the ancient nomads whilst staying in traditional yurts and sampling the hospitality of the Kazakh people.
