Adventure - an antidote to banality.

We explore mountain ranges, ride dirt bikes, trek deserts,

raft rivers and break Nordic ski trails.

RUST REMOVAL - PORTUGAL MOTOs

Year round

With a reliable sunny climate, Portugal is the place to head south to work off some winter rust and get out into the hills around the Algarve for some dirt riding. Drift runs a mix of day rides, long weekend and adventure tours across the country, suitable for both beginners or experienced enduro riders - a great way to escape the cold and rain of the north and soak up some sunshine and Super Bok in some of the last free-riding terrain in Europe.

KARAKORAM MOTO, PAKISTAN

JUNE 22 - JULY 07

Specially designed to cover the best of this extraordinary region, the IKKH Moto follows sections of the Indus River, the KKH and some spectacular valley spurs that lead us through the Hunza valley and along the old Silk Road. Known informally as the KKH, the Karakoram Highway is considered the highest paved international road in the world and it’s certainly one of the world’s most spectacular. The KKH is sometimes called the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions in which it was constructed, taking 20 years to complete. The highway runs for about 1,300km (800 miles) from Abbattabad in Pakistan to Kashgar in China, connecting the two neighbours across the Karakoram mountain ranges and includes the highest border crossing in the world, the Khunjerab Pass at an elevation of 4,714 meters.

KAOKO moto, NAMIBIA

AUGUST 27 - SEPT 05

Kaokoland……a remote area of land in the far north west of Namibia, nudging up alongside the Angolan border, in southern Africa.  It’s a vast land, mountainous, arid, un-spoiled and majestic; a place one goes to field test the new Landrover Defender and where men enter as sheep and emerge as lions. DRIFT’s Kaoko Moto is an 8 day adventure ride though this striking terrain; with a scenic private charter flight up from Windehoek to our start point in Ruacana, we follow the Cunene river west to the ‘Epupa (foam) Falls’ that mark the border with Angola to their north. The next 7 days see us traverse Kaokoland in the direction of Windhoek, zig-zagging across a terrain that’s all dirt tracks, rocky riverbeds and game trails, a ‘moto safari’ through the home of the desert elephant and the Himba people.

Custom Adventure

This is YOUR blank sheet of paper – so start filling it in.

If it involves two legs, two wheels or two skis, jungles, mountains or deserts, I’ll happily devise your own adventure, moto or charity challenge - but I draw the line at throwing myself out of a perfectly good aircraft!

DRIFT…..with a difference

Created to provide an antidote to a frazzled, permanently on-call world, DRIFT Adventure and it’s noisy little brother, DRIFT Moto, deliver my personal take on adventuring across this world of ours.

I research, plan and guide every DRIFT adventure; trips that might stretch you, hopefully inspire you, put a pep in your step and colour back in your cheeks.

I won’t ever claim to have re-invented the adventure wheel, I just do it in a way that instinctively feels right for me and is accessible to everyone, of all abilities.

My trips are based on detailed knowledge of the countries we travel through and excellent local contacts and, whilst some of the places we explore may appear familiar, you’ll experience them a little bit differently; sometimes via the back door and always with a nod to history, the culture, characters and culinary delights that define each region.

I’ve a view that the best things in life aren’t ‘things’…..they’re experiences and memories and the most certain way to create those, is to take that first step out the front door and start your adventure.

All best, Charlie
